Here is a slideshow showing pictures of our District-wide AIDS Memorial Day celebrations. It is a time for the people of Papua New Guinea to lift-up and remember those who have died in shame, died suffering in pig houses. It is a day where they have the opportunity to honor all of those who have died without the dignity they deserve as human beings on this Earth. It is an opportunity to honor the lives they lived and the people they were. To remember them as mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters; not as “that person who has HIV” and not as “that sinner over there”. International AIDS Memorial Day in the Enga Province is a very moving experience as they remember the people whom they were forced to reject and forget.
